You must apply to join. Membership is not automatic on retirement.  

Why join RTO?

  Members can... 

• join the RTO/ERO health plans,

• participate in District and provincial activities,

• keep in touch with colleagues/friends,

• much more, go here.

There are two categories of membership:

1. Full members are former educational employees and 

2. Associate members are spouses of retired teachers or educational employees who have chosen to join or who meet one of the several other criteria (visit the RTO/ERO site for full information).
